School Pictures

We all have them, piles of school pictures that we have no idea what to do with. We bought them because either they were cute or we had too much "mommy guilt" not to buy them, but now they are just sitting there stuffed into the back of the cabinet or on the shelf. So what do we do with these pictures besides sending them to grandparents???

Here are a few ideas for you to help you enjoy those school portraits that you bought and make a beautiful keepsake for your child to look back on.

1. 1-2-3 Scrapbook

I make a VERY EASY scrapbook for each of my kids with their school pictures. I have 1 scrapbook/kid and all I do is put a small individual of them with their class picture from that year on each page. It takes less than 5 minutes to do each year and at the end of their school career we will have something great to look back on.

For those of you who are very crafty or enjoy scrapbooking this idea can be taken as far as you would like! Cute stickers, other memorabilia from the year, colorful backgrounds, frames, boarders-the sky is the limit! But you absolutely do not need to take these extra steps to have a great keepsake of each year's school picture.

2. Look at you Grow Picture Frame

SUPER EASY way to keep your kids school pictures  is to buy one of those picture frames that has an opening for each year of school, often using just a small wallet size for each year. I see them around in Michael's craft store, Walmart and Amazon.ca, simply search "school picture frame k-12" or click here to check it out.

3. "Bio" Pages

This is such a great way to remember all the important and cute things that your child did and experienced during each school year. You can either make yourself a "All About Me" page with a space for their picture or find one on Pinterest that you like. Click Here and Here for a few examples and Here for a free printable. It can include anything you would like to remember about the year-height, teeth lost, favourite book, funniest thing they said, best friend, favorite food, the sky is the limit! You only need to make it once and then you can reuse it for all of your children, every year.

You can then simply stick them into page protectors and put a little binder together or put them into a scrapbook-whichever works better for you!
