How to Prepare for a Great Family Photo Shoot
Family photo sessions are so special. It is such a wonderful way to capture the beautiful bonds and love that is shared in your family and keep them to share for generations.
Here are a few tips to keep family session fun and enjoyable for everyone involved:
1. Make sure everyone has eaten well (no junk food!) before your session! Hungry kids and grown-ups get cranky and will not take good pictures!
2. If you have little ones make sure to schedule your session far away from nap times!!! Also be sure to bring lots of extra diapers, wipes and change of clothes for babies.
3. Leave yourself plenty of time to get ready and go to your session. Don't schedule a session for right after school or a Sunday morning class. When you are rushed a stressed your kids will be too and that's a recipe for disaster.
4. Make sure everyone goes to the bathroom BEFORE you leave for the session!
5. Bring water (sippy cups are best so that they don't spill) and dry, clean snacks incase the kids get hungry or thirsty during the session.
6. Feel free to bring a special toy or little candies if you think it will help your kids during the session.
7. Most of all remember-this is going to be great! It is not about getting the "perfect" picture, it is about making memories and getting pictures of who you and your family are. You want something real to look back on. Don't worry if clothing gets dirty or someone's hair isn't perfect. This is about having fun as a family, and enjoying this wonderful time you have together.
